Here are some incredible pics from CW4 Jack Holterman, he must have had a Nikon!

Email Jack

These are only the few I've been able to get scanned and up online...there are more...coming soon!
"Hill180 (also called Virginia HIll). My transmitter site was on the top. The hill was outside the base perimeter. The ARVN troops had their firing range at the bottom of the hill near the road. A dangerous place when they were firing!!!"
"Headquarters Company, 8th RRFS"
"Missy Lee, the best looking House Girl on Base [sic].

It was said that the rest of them were chosen for their uglyness to keep the GIs away.

(It didn't work.)"

"On Sunday, during the picnic, Ordinance Disposal decided to destroy all the outdated ammunition and other explosives without warning anybody. We had our own little mushroom cloud and a good scare."
"Enlisted Quarters at 8th RRFS in Phu Bai of imported trailrs with inside latrines and (mostly) functioning air conditioners.

Far superior to anything the officers had!!"

"Sending and receiving reports in the Operations Comm Center. CW4 Holterman in the foreground."
"View with swimming pool, water purification plant and VOQ {some big mountains} in the background."

(Sorry Jack, that's not Hill 180)

" Entrance to Headquarters
8th RRFS "
" The Chapel
8th RRFS "
" Electrical generators inside revetments with protected roofs at Phu Bai. "

[Those generators are what kept OPS operational...or, did you know that?]

"The house girls at the end of the day -- some accompanied by their "boyfriends", at least as far as the front gate. "
"This is what a Viet Cong rocket did to the wall of the EM Club. A GI sleeping on the inside of the building got a cut along the bridge of his nose. An automatic Purple Heart!! "
