I'm fairly certain the picture was taken in April or May of 1969, during the time I was going back and forth between Trai Bac and Fire Support Base Berchtesgaden. The photo only shows a small part of the compound.
What I can remember after more than 30 years is that the small rectangular buildings along the far side of the road are the Vietnamese shops, behind them are the eight buildings that housed the generators, on the near side of the road I think the first small building is the guard shack where the Mama-sans and Papa-sans were checked in and out. The next and larger building with the dumpsters sitting behind it is the movie theater and beside it, the basketball court. The large sprawling building in the left center of the photo is the operations building. The two story building in the center of the photo with the three jeeps parked in front of it is the BOQ. The large building to the left of the BOQ is the Supply Warehouse. The photo seems to have been taken looking to the South, coming in over Route One.
